Summer in Alaska

June and July is always one of my favorite fisheries on the Nushagak River. We are camped 50 miles upstream from Dillingham Alaska, just a quick 20 minutes flight into camp. Fishing for Alaska King Salmon Adventures, I truly believe we are your best chance in the WORLD for numbers of Kings. This summer we had numerous days of triple digit days.

I spent the latter part of the summer on the Kenai River, my old stomping grounds. The King fishing was open and the numbers seem to be improving. This River had been on a downward trend and it was nice to get to handle 50 pound kings and release them back to the Kenai to spawn.

August was filled with limits of Sockeye and Silvers. The Silvers were a week late but fortunately the Kenai was still loaded with 6-12 pound sockeye (my favorite eating fish)

Next up……. 2 weeks of kings in the Snake River out of Clarkston, then 2 weeks on the Columbia River just upstream from the Tri-Cities.
